Double Act

DOUBLE ACT is a dynamic double bill by Sabrina Muszynski (2nd Skin) and Sarah Kalule (Fancy Jazz Dance). Through transformative deconstruction and introspection, each solo performance reimagines and celebrates the dancers’ cultural roots, propelling contemporary dance into untapped possibilities.

2nd Skin is a riveting exploration of visceral movement and Scottish Highland dancing. Tradition and innovation converge as two bodies intertwine in videography and live performance - one remaining in tradition, while the other departing into new movement pathways.

Fancy Jazz Dance is a hilarious and entertaining work that pays homage to Jazz Dance’s “Golden Age” and flair. Weaving together movements inspired by Bojangles, The Nicholoas Brothers, and Fosse, an ingenious cocktail of performative dialogue unfolds – plunging into the heart of the performer’s multifaceted experiences.
