Three young Australians will be heading to London in September to take up places at the Royal Ballet School.

They are Jackson Smith-Leishman (16), a pupil at the Amanda Bollinger Dance Academy (Qld), Axel Mero (15), a pupil at Projection Dance in Wodonga (Vic) and Charlotte Cohen (16) from the Melbourne Conservatoire of Ballet (Vic).

Jackson was a finalist in the Prix de Lausanne last year. He was also offered a place at the Paris Opera Ballet School. Axel lives in Mt Beauty, an hour away from his school, and travels three or four times a week to class. He was also accepted into the Australian Ballet School but has his sights set on going to London.
