Telstra and the Australian Ballet have revealed the five five talented young dancers selected as nominees for the 2022 Telstra Ballet Dancer Awards.

They are corps de ballet dancers Thomas Gannon, Adam Elmes and Lilly Maskery, soloist Rina Nemoto and coryphee Lucien Xu. The nominees were selected by the AB's artistic team, company dancers and past winners.

The TBDA is in its 19th year and is one of the longest-running arts awards in the country. Open to the members of the company, it is divided into two parts: the $25,000 Telstra Rising Star Award, which is chosen by a panel of judges, and the $15,000 Telstra People’s Choice Award, which will be chosen by a public online vote.

The winners will be announced at Sydney Opera House on Tuesday April 5, following opening night of Anna Karenina.

Artistic director David Hallberg thanked Telstra for "their commitment to the arts and specifically the nurturing of talent within The Australian Ballet".

The nominees are featured in a series of videos on the Telstra website. To vote, visit here or via 0484 BALLET.
