Helpmann Award-nominated performer Teagan Wouters has joined the cast of Zerial, an aerial cabaret opening at Adelaide Festival Centre on 9 September before travelling to Melbourne.

Wouters and Australian tenor Mark Oates will provide the live vocals for the 70-minute production. The cast also includes French Cirque du Soleil artist Arnaud Caizergues; Australian aerialists Olivia Baker, Lauren Bird and Natalie Chudleigh; and Dancing with the Stars performers Craig Monley and Sriani Argaet.

Created and produced by Craig Hryhorec, Zerial follows the company’s earlier production Le Aerial. It includes new aerial acts alongside returning material, with live music and dance incorporated throughout.

“Zerial is such an exciting production because it brings together so many different forms of performance,” said Wouters. “I’m thrilled to be joining this incredible cast and to be part of bringing the show to audiences in both Adelaide and Melbourne.”

Wouters’ musical theatre credits include The Addams Family, Kinky Boots, Bonnie & Clyde, Fiddler on the Roof, Dirty Dancing, Legally Blonde, The Rocky Horror Show and Jersey Boys. She received a Helpmann Award nomination for her performance as Nicola in Kinky Boots.

“Teagan is an exceptional performer,” said Hryhorec. “Her voice, stage presence and incredible musical theatre career make her a perfect fit for Zerial.”

Monley and Argaet have both appeared as professional partners on Dancing with the Stars. Monley won the program’s 2012 season with Johnny Ruffo and has since worked across performance and choreography.

Zerial plays the Space Theatre at Adelaide Festival Centre from 9 to 13 September, followed by the Fairfax Studio at Arts Centre Melbourne from 16 to 20 September.
