Australia’s beloved Queendom is set to rise again, with SIX the Musical announcing a major return tour across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane from mid-2026. The global pop-concert sensation, which has conquered the West End, Broadway and stages worldwide, will begin its new Australian chapter at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre in July 2026, followed by Theatre Royal Sydney from October and QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre in Brisbane from January 2027
Since its Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2017, SIX has become a cultural phenomenon. The musical reframes the stories of the six wives of Henry VIII through a thrilling blend of razor-sharp humour, irresistible pop and empowering self-reclamation. Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr step into the spotlight as modern pop icons, remixing five centuries of history into an eighty-minute burst of glamour, wit and unapologetic agency.
Producers say they could not ignore the “roar of the Queendom”, with Australian audiences continuing to embrace the show with extraordinary enthusiasm. “SIX has become a cultural force here and there is incredible demand from fans who want to keep reliving the magic,” says Louise Withers, speaking on behalf of the producers. The return season promises a renewed opportunity for longtime devotees and newcomers alike to experience the production’s inventive storytelling and exhilarating performances
The numbers speak for themselves. The soundtrack has accumulated over 5.2 billion streams, the show attracts more than 3.5 million fans annually and it has now played in over 15 countries. Winner of thirty-eight major international awards, including two Tony Awards and a Grammy nomination, SIX continues to redefine the modern musical landscape through its contemporary sound, clever lyricism and resonant themes of empowerment and autonomy
The Australian tour announcement coincides with the news that SIX the Musical Live! will screen in cinemas nationwide from 8 January 2026. Filmed at London’s Vaudeville Theatre and starring the original West End cast, the film broke UK box office records earlier this year and will be seen internationally for the first time in Australian cinemas
From viral choreography and fan art to an international community affectionately known as the Queendom, SIX has built an intergenerational following that extends far beyond the theatre. Its blend of pop sensibility and historical reinvention continues to resonate deeply, offering audiences both spectacle and emotional clarity.
Australian cast and creatives for the 2026 season are yet to be announced.
Tickets for the Melbourne season go on sale 15 December, with Sydney and Brisbane waitlists now open at sixthemusical.com.au.
