Australasian Dance Collective has announced that acclaimed choreographer, performer and educator Daniel Jaber will join the company as Pre Professional Program Director in 2026. The appointment marks an energising new chapter for ADC’s full time Pre Professional Program, which supports emerging contemporary dancers as they transition toward professional careers.

Jaber brings a wealth of experience across tertiary and professional training, and his appointment reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to shaping creative, versatile and employable artists. ADC Artistic Director and CEO Amy Hollingsworth said the 2026 program will benefit from Jaber’s distinct artistic approach and strong pedagogical grounding.

“I am delighted to welcome Daniel to ADC. His dynamic and compelling approach to developing technique, artistry, and creative practice will bring fresh energy and perspective to our 2026 program. I greatly look forward to his leadership nurturing the holistic growth of our future PPP artists.”

Hollingsworth also paid tribute to outgoing founding Director Alison Currie, whose time with the program has shaped its ethos and artistic integrity. “Her thoughtful leadership has been instrumental in shaping the structure, ethos, and artistic rigour of the program in its inaugural phase, and her influence will continue to be felt for years to come.”

ADC’s Pre Professional Program offers full time contemporary training and a CUA60120 Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance). After launching its vocational pathway in 2025, ADC will begin delivering this Nationally Recognised Training qualification with Empowerdance (RTO 40397) from 2026. Students train alongside the professional company, gaining insight into contemporary practice, creation and performance.

The Pre Professional Program is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s Strategic Partnerships Fund and The L&R Foundation, reflecting the sector’s investment in developing Australia’s next generation of dance artists.

Established in 1984 and formerly known as Expressions Dance Company, ADC has commissioned more than 180 works and remains a vital contemporary voice in Australia’s dance landscape. With an ensemble known for its expressive breadth and a history of award winning performance, ADC continues to cultivate interdisciplinary collaborations and artist led creation.
