Heather Campbell is the General Manager of Sydney Eisteddfod, bringing over 15 years of experience in arts administration, event management, and youth arts education. She has held senior roles with Gondwana Choirs, Century Venues, and Sydney Eisteddfod, where she previously served as Operations Manager.
A long-standing Teaching Artist with the Australian Theatre for Young People, Heather is passionate about nurturing young talent and creating inclusive, high-quality performance opportunities. Her directing credits include 13: The Musical and Frank Wildhorn’s Jekyll and Hyde, as well as many devised and scripted pieces she has directed with performers of all ages in her time as a teacher. She trained at atyp and NIDA, had the pleasure of working professionally as an actor, toured nationally with theatre-in-education groups, and has written original works for Short+Sweet, Sydney Fringe, and Under the Wharf.
Heather's first love was musical theatre and her passion for the art form continues to this day. The earliest role she remembers playing was Molly in Annie, which she followed by being the titular redhead herself a few years later, and then several years after that donning Grace's shoes. While she now takes great pride from enabling others to shine, she could be tempted back to play Miss Hannigan if the opportunity arose.
"I hope you enjoy it and that these tunes inspire you to let your Elsa arms fly free and walk down the street like you are in a music video… frankly, if Whitney Houston doesn’t make you want to get your groove on, I'm not sure what will!"
