The Eifman Ballet, direct from Russia, is about to make its first ever Australian appearance. And Dance Australia has four double passes to give away to some lucky readers.
The Eifman Ballet tours the world constantly to packed houses. For its Australian season it is bringing two of its most acclaimed productions: Anna Karenina and Tchaikovsky, choreographed by the company’s founder, Boris Eifman.
Eifman is known as a choreographer of psychological dramas, who believes ballet should stir the emotions. The esteemed New York critic Anna Kisselgoff wrote of Eifman - “The ballet world in search of a major choreographer need search no more. He is Boris Eifman.”
Boris Eifman’s 50 strong dancers are world class, classically trained, “statuesque and powerful”.
“With Eifman, you are simply carried away on a tsunami of pure movement” - Chicago Sun Times.
The Eifman Ballet opens in Sydney on August 15 at the Capitol Theatre, then moves to the Regent Theatre in Melbourne from August 29.
Dance Australia has two double passes for the opening night of Anna Karenina in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre on August 15, and two double passes for the opening night of Anna Karenina in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre on August 29.
