The Queensland Dance School of Excellence (QDSE) will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2012 with a lunchtime picnic at Kelvin Grove State College on Saturday 24th March. The school which is run in partnership with the Queensland Ballet and the Queensland Department of Education and Training, offers pre-professional ballet and dance training in conjunction with face-to-face senior schooling.
Previously providing a pre-professional program in dance, in 2011 a pre-professional ballet program was introduced at QDSE under the direction of Queensland Ballet’s artistic director Francios Klaus and artistic associate Robyn White. Former pupils of QDSE have gone on to performance and choreographic careers with numerous companies including English National Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, the Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet and Expressions Dance Company.
