The OCT/NOV issue of Dance Australia is out, and is packed with fabulous articles!

BEING AURORA
What’s it like to dance the role of Aurora? As both the Australian Ballet and the Queensland Ballet have launched new productions of The Sleeping Beauty this year, we ask several Auroras, present and past, to describe the experience of dancing this most covetted of ballerina roles.

CAREERS SPECIAL
For those who decide performing is not the direction they can or want to take their dance career, do not despair! There are many other fabulous options for dancers! Another highlight of this issue is our Careers Special, with examples of all sorts of fulfilling, dance-related careers.

SPEAKING FLATLEY
We have an interview with Michael Flately, the Irish dance revolutionary, on the eve of his latest Australian tour. You can almost hear his accent lilting off the page!

BABY STEPS
Dirty Dancing is on tour again. Everybody always focuses on the role of Johnny Castle, but we have decided to focus instead on the equally pivotal role of Frances “Baby” Houseman, who is being played in the Australian production by Kirby Burgess.

McDONALD BALLET CHAMPIONSHIP
We also have a beautiful spread on this year's McDonald Competition, together with photos of the talented contestants and a thoughtful article by Emma Sandall.

PLUS, we have interviews with Bangarra's brilliant designer, Jacob Nash, another with Dancenorth's enterprising new artistic director, Kyle Page, an inspiring article on fathers and their dancing sons, and much, much more!
