Dance Massive is once again living up to its name with a veritable cornucopia of contemporary dance set to hit Melbourne’s Arts House, Dancehouse and the Malthouse Theatre in March.  Featuring an impressive 19 productions, 14 of which are world premieres, the program includes works by Australian companies Chunky Move, Lucy Guerin Inc, Phillips Adam’s Balletlab, Force Majeure, as well as numerous independent artists.

Dance Massive in 2015 seeks to provoke, asking questions about what constitutes dance and who and what is doing the dancing.  Performances will take place on basketball courts and in playgrounds, as well as in theatres.  Antony Hamilton works with 64 robotic percussion instruments; Force Majeure celebrates the fat dancing body; Youth Arts group St Martins run a boot camp for adults created by children.

Many of the works and artists on the program have recently won awards, such as Atlanta Eke’s Body of Work (winner of the Keir Award), Sue Healey’s On View: Quintet (winner of the 2014 Australian Dance Award for Dance on Film/New Media).
