The rumours that have been circulating are true – Lucy Durack will play Elle Woods in the Australian premiere of Legally Blonde: the Musical, which opens in October at the Lyric Theatre, Sydney. Based on the film of the same name, Legally Blonde: the Musical is in its third year in London and has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Best New Musical 2011 at the Oliver Awards.
Durack, who played Glinda, the Good Witch in the Australian production of Wicked, will be joined on stage by fellow Wicked cast member, Rob Mills who will take the role of Warner. Other cast members include David Harris (Miss Saigon, The Boy from Oz, Wicked) in the role of Emmet, Erika Heynatz (original host of Next Top Model) as Brooke Wyndham and Cameron Daddo (Big River, Packed to the Rafters) as Professor Callahan.
