Eight excited classical dancers and six jazz groups are busy perfecting their routines for one of the biggest nights on the competition calendar -- the Sydney Eisteddfod McDonald Ballet Scholarship and Open Jazz Dance Group Finals.
The finalists for the Ballet Scholarship were chosen from a thorough, five day assessment process involving classes, quarter finals and semi-finals over the week of July 10 to 15.
The lucky few are:
Alysha Martignago (Qld) taught by Janine McGrath
Belle Beasley (NSW) National College of Dance
Kiely Gronenewegan (Vic) Australian Conservatoire of Ballet
Jessica Allison Walker (Vic) Prudence Bowen's Atelier, Gold Coast
Josh Denyer (NSW) Ecole Ballet & Dance Theatre
Tyson Powell – Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School
Nathan Mennis (Qld) taught by Martyn Fleming
Caleb Durbin (NSW) National College of Dance
The jazz group finalists are from Capital Performance Studios, Brent Street, Dance Junction, Dubbo Ballet Studio, Lee Academy and National College of Dance (all from NSW).
