Sleeping Beauty

Charlesworth Ballet Institute, alongside the support of Youth Ballet WA, presents, the coming-of-age fairy tale, and much-loved ballet, Sleeping Beauty.

Featuring some of Perth’s finest young dancers, and special guest artist from West Australian Ballet Demi-Soloist, Christian Luck, as the wicked fairy Carabosse. Witness the power of true love’s kiss, a beautiful princess, and her enchanting kingdom. Princess Aurora was cursed at birth by the wicked fairy Carabosse, that on her 16th birthday she will prick her finger on a needle and die. Protected by the magic of the Lilac Fairy – instead, she only falls into a deep slumber. One hundred years later she is awoken with a kiss from a Prince. Marius Petipa’s, Sleeping Beauty, was first performed in 1890, and features the elegant score, of Tchaikovsky.

This iconic production, with simply extravagant sets, stunning costumes and magical characters – will sweep you off your feet, into the fairy tale… it’s not to be missed. Experience the joy of Sleeping Beauty, its enchanting story, and the magical characters - is a ballet for the whole family, over the holidays.
