International Youth Ballet Gala

The Inaugural International Youth Ballet Gala will feature seven of the finest semi-professional male youth dancers from world-class ballet schools in Europe and the United Kingdom, including: Vaganova Ballet Academy Russia, Palucca University of Dance Dresden, Ballettakademie der Wiener Staatsoper Vienna, Ballettschule Theatre Basel and The English National Ballet London.

A one-night exclusive, showcasing exhilarating world class dancers from around the globe - brilliant dancing and exceptional talent, featuring various Pas de Deux from ballets such as: Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, Giselle and more. The international dancers will be partnered with the most talented female graduates from Youth Ballet WA. This will give our local young ballerinas the opportunity to dance with these internationally recognised performers before they leave YBWA and embark on their own careers.

In the weeks running up to the Gala Yuri Vasilkov and the renowned European dancer Amyeric Aude will also hold workshops for young dancers as well as master classes for professional Perth dancers. Our aim is to ensure that while they are in Perth their expertise is spread widely across the local ballet landscape

The aim of this the I.Y.B.G. is to raise much needed funds to support Youth Ballet WA’s scholarship fund, which provides financial support for young WA dancers who demonstrate potential for future careers in the world of dance.
