Registrations are open for the World Dance Alliance (WDA) Global Summit, which is taking place in Angers, France, from July 6 to 11, 2014.
The event involves presenters from over 40 countries and includes an international conference, daily sunset performances by independent artists and pre-professional students, 36 international workshops for professional dance artists, a choreolab for four emerging and mid-career choreographers and 40 dancers, evening performances by local and visiting companies and World Dance Alliance Global Assembly and Network meetings.
The international conference includes keynote addresses by choreographers Robert Swinston (Director, CNDC and USA/ France Cunningham legacy), Germaine Acogny (Senegal/France) and Olivier Dubois (director of the National Choreographic Centre Roubaix). Swinston and Acogny will also mentor the choreoloab, which will include a public showing of work-in-progress.
