Sydney Creative Movement, film director Hannah Bent and associate producer Marlene Palmeiro are making a documentary film about young creative people with Downs syndrome and they are looking for professional dancers to be involved with the project.
As part of the documentary, Sydney Creative Movement will be leading the four main stars of the film, along with a team of professional dancers, to present an integrative dance performance at the New Theatre as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival this September.
The goal of the performance, entitled Inside Out, is to break down misconceptions about Downs syndrome and to focus on the the abilities of people living with a disability - their humour, love, talents. The performance will be multi-faceted and the aim is to be vibrant, moving, modern and integrative.
Currently, the team includes a couple of professional dancers, but they are looking for more dancers to join the project.
The ten week rehearsal/dance workshop schedule will officially commence on Saturday 20 July from 3-6pm in the afternoon and will continue every following Saturday leading up to the weekend of the performances (The actual Fringe Festival performances will be 7pm Saturday 21 September and 3pm Sunday 22 September).
If you think you could volunteer some time and be part of the dance team behind Inside Out for the 2013 Fringe Festival, please contact
