Attention young musical theatre performers!

If you’re aged between 15 and 20 years old and keen to take your musical theatre skills to the next level then the Victorian College of Arts (VCA) has the summer school for you. VCA’s Music Theatre Summer School, Acting the Song, offers teenagers and young adults the opportunity to develop fundamental acting skills and gain an insight into the specialised area of musical theatre.

Participants will work on musical theatre repertoire with an acting coach and musical director and explore a range of techniques and strategies to unlock specific acting choices in both a range of ensemble and solo songs. Participants will begin each morning by covering basic voice and movement technique. In the afternoon, students will break out into the Music Theatre stream for small group sessions of Acting the Song.

When:
16-20 January 2017, 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday

Suitable for 15-20 years old. Previous background in musical theatre singing is recommended and you are also encouraged to bring along some songs that you have worked on in the past.

Head to the VCA website for information about fees and bookings.
