Victorian dance event organisers, Underground Melbourne, have announced the launch of a new under-age dance showcase.  Entitled Underground Underage, the event will be held Sunday 16 February at the Revolt Artspace.  Hosted by ABC3 presenter James Elmer, the show  will feature 20 under-18 acts.  There will also be a dance-floor with a DJ and a barbeque at this family-friendly, alcohol-free event.

The distinguishing feature of Underground Underage is that, unlike most performing arts events for under-agers, it’s not a competition.  Instead Underground Underage is a celebration of dance for dance’s sake.

Whilst there is no formal competitive element to the event, it is, nonetheless, an opportunity to network and plenty of industry leaders will be about, on the lookout for new talent.

Underground Underage is the younger sibling of Underground Melbourne, a dance showcase for over-18s, held quarterly at Revolt Artspace.  The next Underground Melbourne event is Saturday 15 February.
