The Tanja Liedtke Foundation (TLF) has announced that it is supporting Thomas Bradley (Sydney) and Shian Law (Melbourne) by providing the two young artists with international exchange opportunities.
The two artists will travel to Europe, Bradley to ImPulsTanz in Vienna and then to Wuppertal to work with choreographer Theo Clinkard, and Law to Berlin to collaborate with local artists on a new work and to spend two weeks at international film school Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg.
Both Bradley and Law are excited about their impending travels. “Considering the mist that currently engulfs arts funding in Australia, I feel super privileged to be supported by TLF,” says Bradley. “A great sense of affirmation surrounds this support, and that is most empowering as I project myself into risk, challenge and growth.”
Law comments, “I am very honoured to have received such a support from TLF to pursue the development of my performance project Psycho at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg and at the adaStudio in Berlin. As an emerging artist, I am truly humbled and hope to honour Tanja’s artistic legacies with my hard work and dedication to the art form."
The Tanja Liedtke Foundation delivers programs in Europe and Australia to support young artists and build new frontiers in contemporary dance. The Foundation’s aims are inspired by the extraordinary Tanja Liedtke, whose art and legacy continues to enthrall dancers and audiences alike.
