Homeground is a free outdoor event that will showcase Indigenous dancers and musicians from around Australia and overseas, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November on the Western Boardwalk of the Sydney Opera House.

There are several dance groups performing at Homeground.  From Fiji comes Rako, an artistic movement formed by a group of Rotumen and Polynesian artists to create new work by reviving ancient art forms and stories.

Young dancers from Brisbane’s Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts (ACPA) will appear throughout the weekend at the Dancestry grounds – Homeground’s sand circle stage.

National Aboriginal and Islander Skill Development Organsation (NAISDA) will perform the Bungul, which will feature a series of dances by 35 developing artists and cultural tutors.  Workshops will also be conducted by the tutors.
