Australian-born Steven McRae needs no introduction to Australian audiences. Trained in Sydney, he joined the Royal Ballet School on a Prix de Lausanne scholarship in 2003. He graduated into the Royal Ballet and was promoted to Principal in 2009. He is now one of the world’s leading dancers and a frequent guest artist with major companies. He is appearing as a guest artist in the Queensland Ballet’s season of Romeo and Juliet  (running at the Qld Performing Arts Centre from June 27 to July 5).

McRae has recently published a magnificent book documenting 12 months of his career as he rehearses and performs at the Royal Opera House. Called Dancer in the Fast Lane, it features more than 70 magnificent colour images by photographer Andrej Uspenski.

You will drool over the intimate rehearsal pictures and the performance shots which capture him and his Royal Ballet colleagues in the heat and intensity of live performance.

Dance Australia, in association with the Royal Opera House, has 10 of these books (worth $30) to give away. All you have to do is email dance@yaffa.com.au with ‘Steven McRae Book’ as your subject and the book could be yours! Please include your name, address and phone number in the email.

Competition closes July 30.
