The Queensland Ballet is once again presenting its International Gala, remarkably the 15th outing of this popular annual event.
This year, as well as international guest artists, the company will welcome some homegrown dancers: Daniel Guadiello (now a principal artist with the Australian Ballet), award winning independent dancer Paul White, and Chantelle Kerr (from the Semperoper Ballett Dresden in Germany).
The varied program of classical favourites and contemporary masterworks is crafted by artistic director François Klaus into a thrilling, bravura performance. Regular guest choreographer Nils Christe will mount his delicious work, Diner Dansant, and didgeridoo maestro William Barton will join the company to reprise an excerpt from François Klaus’s Timeless Dances.
This exciting Gala also features a new work by Queensland Ballet dancer and choreographer, Gareth Belling, and concludes with a stunning Finale for the entire Company and guest dancers.
Guest dancers include: Jón Vallejo (Semperoper Ballett Dresden) and Natalie Kusch (Vienna State Opera Ballet.
