Shaun Parker and Company’s star continues to be on the rise. Only three years old, the company is about to perform in five countries across Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The tour kicks off at the Belgrade Dance Festival in Serbia. Presenting its Australian festival commission Happy as Larry on April 7, the company will play alongside the likes of Akram Khan (UK), Ultima Vez (Belgium), Pierre Rigal (France) and Russell Maliphant Company (UK).
From here, the company will take Happy as Larry to Posthof in Linz, Austria, before heading to the Beirut International Platform of Dance (Bipod) in Lebanon, the Amnan Contemporary Dance Festival in Jordan and the Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival in Palestine.
Happy as Larry was originally commissioned by the Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and New Zealand International Arts Festivals in 2010. The work has played 11 venues across the UK and France, including a sold-out season at London’s prestigious Sadler’s Wells.
