Less than three years old, Shaun Parker & Company has enjoyed success both at home and overseas.  The Yard, a work about bullying and the cultural divide in the playground has just been nominated for a 2013 Helpmann Award, having won an Australian Dance Award in 2012.

Outdoor works Spill and Trolleys, originally commissioned for the 2012 London Cultural Olympiad, have recently played the Dublin Dance Festival, Whee! Children’s Festival in Nottingham, the Imagine Watford Festival, Highbury Park in London and will soon tour to The Netherlands.

Back at home, Shaun Parker & Company is about to tour the award-winning show Happy as Larry to regional and metropolitan theatres around Australia.  Originally commissioned by the Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and New Zealand International Arts Festivals, Happy as Larry has also played venues across France and the UK including Sadler’s Wells.  Combining ballet, break-dance, parkour, tutting, chalk art, roller-skating, basketball, acrobatics and pulsating dance, Happy as Larry explores the human condition. Happy as Larry brings together humour, pathos, and Parker’s distinctive dance aesthetic.

Happy as Larry company members will be conducting workshops in each city. Please click here for more information.
