Young dancer Aaron Smyth has signed a contract with The Royal Ballet. The talented Queenslander has been on a winning streak for the last few years, reaching the final of the McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship twice, finishing fourth in the 2008 season of Australia’s Got Talent, winning the 2008 Genée International Ballet Competition and working with ABT II, American Ballet Theatre’s youth training company.
Smyth joins Gold Coast classmate Claudia Dean at The Royal Ballet. The pair danced together at last year’s McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod, wowing the audience with the pas de deux from Le Corsaire.
Known for both his superb dancing and delightful personality, Smyth is thoroughly deserving of a place with one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies.
