Australia’s street dance community will converge in Sydney this winter as the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final lands at the Hordern Pavilion on 25 July, bringing together 16 dancers for a one-night freestyle battle shaped entirely by the crowd.
The event follows a recent qualifier at Pier Street Underpass, described as a high-energy series of crowd-fuelled battles and surprise track moments. Four dancers secured their place in the final: ROME (NSW), Jeff Hu (NSW), 4MAN (ACT) and Waackyoume (NSW). They now join 12 wildcard entrants from across the country, forming a lineup that reflects the breadth of Australia’s street dance scene.
Among the wildcard selections are returning national finalist Flood (QLD), former champion Nonoy (VIC) and Amanda Va (ACT), a dancer known for her strong musicality and growing online presence.
Red Bull Dance Your Style operates on a format that removes traditional judging panels. There are no set routines and no pre-selected music. Instead, dancers improvise to tracks chosen live by the DJ, navigating shifts in tempo, genre and mood in real time. Styles range from hip hop and house to voguing, krumping and Afro dance, with each round decided by audience vote.
The result is a competition built on responsiveness and individuality, where musical interpretation and connection with the crowd are central. The Sydney final will unfold through a knockout structure, with dancers going head-to-head until a single winner is crowned.
That winner will go on to represent Australia at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final, placing the event within a global circuit that has grown in scale and visibility in recent years.
Alongside the battles, the evening will include guest performances, showcases and live hosting, positioning the event as both a competition and a broader celebration of street dance culture in Sydney.
Tickets are now on sale, with entry starting from $15.
