A number of prominent people in the performing arts world have been honoured in the 2017 Queen's Birthday honours list.
Stephen Page, the artistic director of Bangarra Dance Theatre since 1991, has been appointed an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO). Michael Lynch, who among many other posts was chief executive of the Sydney Opera House (1998-2002) and chief executive of the Southbank Centre London (2002-2009), has also received the same honour.

Among those appointed members of the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) are Marilyn Rowe, former artistic director of the Australian Ballet School, and Nicolette Fraillon, chief conductor for the Australian Ballet.
Producer and director Michael Coppell, director and producer Gale Edwards, conductor and theatre manager Greg Hocking, costume and set designer Roger Kirk, dancer, teacher and choreographer Barbara Warren Smith and arts historian and conservator, Frank van Straten, have also been honoured.

Dance Australia congratulates all recipients on being recognised for their important and inspiring contribution to Australian life.
