Canberra-based youth dance company QL2 Dance is presenting a triple bill this week entitled “Connected”… but it’s not about the type of connectivity that immediately springs to mind in our screen-centred world. Instead, the three works, created by Sara Black, Kristina Chan and Lingua Franca respectively, are about using bodies, movements and some very loud voices to connect.

QL2 artistic director, Ruth Osborne, elaborates. “In exploring different forms of connection, we’re breaking away from those little screens. And getting in touch with ourselves, with others, and the environment we inhabit. Each work shows a lot of maturity: these choreographers have collaborated with the dancers to draw out a subtlety of expression you might not expect from young dancers.”

“Connected” is performed by QL2’s Quantum Leap ensemble — young contemporary dancers from Canberra and region, plus visitors from Thailand, Perth and regional NSW. It will be presented at The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre Centre, Wednesday 27 – Saturday 30 July at 7pm. For more info head to https://canberratheatrecentre.com.au
