The Paris Opera Ballet is returning to Australia – and this time with the quintessential Romantic ballet, Giselle.
The world renowned company will be appearing exclusively in Sydney for 13 performances from January 29.
The visit will be the Paris Opera Ballet’s third to Australia – its first was in 2007 in Sydney with an opening gala followed by Swan Lake; the second in Brisbane with La Bayadere.
The company is being presented Leo Schofield and Ian McRae (a former general manager of the Australian Ballet).
“It will be very exciting to have this great ballet company back in Sydney performing the much loved and beautiful Giselle,” McRae said. “The previous visit of Paris Opera Ballet in 2007 was enormously popular, demonstrating just why it is so highly regarded around the world. Leo and I are delighted that Sydney audiences will have another chance to see these glorious dancers.”
Bookings for the Paris Opera Ballet open on Monday 2 July.
