The Brisbane Contemporary Dance Intensive (BCDI) is designed for both pre-tertiary dance students (age 13-17) and emerging dancers (age 17 and above). The pre-tertiary program aims to give greater confidence and an edge for auditions, while the program for emerging dancers is designed to create pathways into the dance industry and focuses on developing a unique style as an artist.
BCDI, which is hosted by Queensland’s Expressions Dance Company, is now in its fifth year. It’s led by a team of professional dancers and choreographers from around Australia, including Lizzie Vilmanis, Riannon McLean and Carol Wellman Kelly will join EDC dancers Elise May, Jack Ziesing, Benjamin Chapman, Rebecca Hall, Daryl Brandwood and Michelle Barnett.
BCDI will take place at the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts in Brisbane, from 23-27 September. Spaces are limited to 15 participants per program and entry is by application only. For more information or to apply, visit expressionsdancecompany.org.au or call EDC on 07 3257 4222.
