Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo has unveiled its 2025–26 season, marking a milestone 40th anniversary for the company founded in 1985 and still led by its renowned Choreographer-Director, Jean-Christophe Maillot.

Maillot has shaped a celebratory season that reflects the breadth of the company’s history: generous in spirit, diverse in style, and uncompromising in artistic excellence. Central to the line-up is Ma Bayadère, a bold new full-length work premiering at the Grimaldi Forum from 27 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. In this creation, Maillot revisits one of the cornerstones of the classical repertoire with his distinctive contemporary lens, reaffirming his enduring fascination with ballet storytelling and pointe work.

Alongside the home season, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will embark on an extensive international tour, beginning in Venice this September with five performances of Cendrillon, accompanied by L'Orchestre du Teatro La Fenice under the baton of Igor Dronov. The tour will continue to major cultural centres including Madrid, Ludwigsburg, Bari, Udine and Riga, bringing Maillot’s acclaimed repertoire to audiences across Europe.

The season also welcomes a new generation of dancers: Jacopo Bellussi, Romina Contreras, Fraser Roach, Ahyun Shin and Cara Verschragen, who have already joined rehearsals ahead of the tour.

The company’s 40th anniversary season promises to highlight its ongoing role as one of Europe’s most influential cultural ambassadors – bridging tradition and innovation while sharing its artistry with audiences worldwide.
