The Australian Dance Awards are back!

Ausdance National has announced that the Australian Dance Awards (ADAs) will be returning in 2020, after a hiatus in 2019. Nominations for the years 2018 and 2019 are open until Monday 20 July, 2020 (NB this is an extension on the original closing date.

Self-nominations are permitted in all categories except Lifetime Achievement, Services to Dance and Dance Education. As Ausdance National is currently running without funding, a nomination fee is being charged to support the awards ($25 for individuals nominating, $60 for funded companies). You can submit your nomination online.

The ADA judging panel has been enlarged and diversified (and includes Dance Australia's Nina Levy, and contributors Lesley Graham, Maggie Tonkin and Matthew Lawrence) – see the full panel list on the ADA website.

Ausdance National will collaborate with its sponsors and the Ausdance network to present the ADAs later in the year. At this point it looks like the awards ceremony will take place online but stay tuned for updates.
