The National Youth Ballet Company is making its debut performance in just five days, at Newcastle's St Phillip's Christian College Theatre. The young performers, aged between 14 and 25, are presenting a sophisticated triple bill which brings together some of Australia's leading creative artists.

Piece One, Au Revoir mon ami, is a newly composed and choreographed work to music by Cyrus Meurant, one of Australia's most prolific and acclaimed young composers, and choreographed in sections by Brett Morgan (OAM), Timothy Gordon, Debbie Ellis Linnert and Jake Burden.

The second work is "Banged and Tap" from Synergy with Synergy, by the renowned choreographer Graeme Murphy to music by percussionist Michael Askill. The third work is also by Murphy - Berlin Songs - a dance recreation of five songs performed by the eclectic and entertaining performer iOTA, and extracted from the original full-length work, Berlin, created for Sydney Dance Company.

The performance is for one night only, followed by another at the Central Coast's Laycock Theatre in Wyoming on August 16.
