Attention NSW-based dancers who work with technology or digital art!
The New South Wales state government has announced a new $30 000 Art and Technology Fellowship to support artists across the state who are working with technology or digital art. The announcement was made by the Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant.
“The fellowship encourages our talented artists to delve into new technologies and raise the profile of their work by reaching new audiences, Grant says. “The winner of the fellowship will be assisted to introduce or expand their use of technology through a program of self-directed professional development, leading to the public presentation of their work. I particularly encourage people living and working in Western Sydney and regional NSW to apply for this new fellowship. In addition to the fellowship funding, the winner will be able to take up the opportunity to work with Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (Powerhouse Museum). The partnership could include a residency at one of the MAAS sites for up to six months, access to research and technical development assistance and showcasing their work in progress. Arts NSW’s partnership with MAAS includes an information session, held both online and at the Powerhouse Museum, for artists looking to find out more about using new technologies in their work.”
Activities that can be supported through the NSW Art and Technology Fellowship include travel, mentorships and internships with arts, technology or science practitioners, residencies, short-term courses and workshops, research, the creation of new work, and the cost of technological or other equipment to assist in the production of new work.
The NSW Arts and Technology Fellowship is open to artists living in NSW at any stage of their career.
