Time is fast approaching for the Melbourne City Ballet's annual contemporary dance season at Chapel off Chapel in Prahran in May.

Titled “Echo”, this year's program will include an exciting new work Catalyst, by Melbourne City Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo, as well as new works by company dancers Brendan Bradshaw and Tynan Wood.

Making a return to the stage will also be Yuiko Masukawa's Signal, a powerful piece inspired by Masukawa’s Japanese heritage, which received much praise at its debut at the Sydney Fringe Festival.

MCB's choreographic season is a time for the classically trained artists to branch out and discover the unlimited possibilities of contemporary dance. The company promises that its dancers will command the stage and bring the "stunning and thoughtful" choreographic works to life.

Dates: 4 – 7 May, 2017. Time: 7.30pm Thursday-Saturday, 1.30pm Sunday
