This April Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance will host the Melbourne Latin Festival, a three day celebration of performances, workshops and parties.  The festival will see leading Latin dancers from Norway, Sweden and Australia gather in Melbourne to dance both on stage and in workshops covering all styles from salsa to samba and all levels from beginner to professional.

A “Cuban immersion” course will be conducted by Cuban artist Greydis Liranza.  Swedish stars Zerion and Nina (pictured below) will bring a fusion of salsa and hip-hop, a combination which has won them international titles.  Nightly performances will see local, interstate and international artists bedazzle the crowds including Juan Carlos Ospina and Angela McCrystal – 2013 finalists for Australia’s Got Talent – and World Champion finalists Ania and JT (pictured above).

International DJs and live Latin bands will be featured at parties held each night during the festival.

“Dance is a huge part of Latin America’s culture and our festival enables visitors to experience that part of the world, whether as an active participant or as a spectator,” says Melbourne Latin Festival chairperson, Natalie Montano.  “We’re particularly excited about our new, more central venue at the avant-garde Ministry of Dance and we expect to see many smiles and sequins throughout the three days of our Latin extravaganza.”
