Roll up! roll up! The curtain has risen on the June/July issue of Dance Australia and revealed a packed program for your entertainment!

Centre stage is our Audition Special, always an audience favourite. This year we focus on what to expect from the audition class, together with a first-hand account of auditioning overseas and the lowdown on auditioning for the Australian Ballet School. Plus we have our annual Audition Calendar for all the dance schools in the country!

In question mode, Karen van Ulzen asks why there are so few women choreographers, Matthew Lawrence asks if ballet is dying (again) and Emma Sandall asks whether students should give up their academic schooling to take up full-time dance. Important topics to consider.

We have an interview with Kip Gamblin, erstwhile dancer with Australian Ballet and Sydney Dance Company who is now starring in The Bodyguard via Home and Away and Dance Academy

Waiting in the wings, Michelle Dursun highlights eight of our brightest young stars just on the cusp of professional careers.

Plus we have solo spots for teacher Janet Bridgman, music theatre’s Reed Luplau (speaking from New York) and Amanda Newman, the guardian of the shoes at the Queensland Ballet.

So from centre stage to the production department – this show covers it all!

Don’t miss out! Look out for the new issue at your favourite magazine retailer or subscribe here, or purchase an online copy via the Dance Australia here.
