Jumping Jack

Dance Australia congratulates young Australian dancer Jack Bertinshaw who recently received the National Ballet of Canada Patron Award of Merit. 

Bertinshaw, who is a dancer with National Ballet of Canada (NBC), received the award together with fellow NBC dancer Shino Mori.  A graduate of the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and Tanz Akademie (Zurich), Jack has won various awards both in Australia and overseas, including finalist at the 2011 Prix de Lausanne and the Mary Day Artistry Award at the Youth America Grand Prix in 2010.

Bertinshaw made his full-length ballet debut as part of the Sydney City Youth Ballet in The Polar Express in 2006.  Sydney City Youth Ballet will remount this ballet 2-7 July, 2013, at the Glen Street Theatre in Sydney.
