Living in WA and love a tango? West Australian Ballet (WAB) wants film footage of you and a friend (or several) doing your best tango.
The competition is inspired by Youri Vamos’s Romeo and Juliet, which is currently touring regional WA. In this production, while Romeo is sneaking into the Capulet Ball, Juliet watches the guests perform a tango, the dance of passion.
So whether it’s at the theatre, in your living room, or on the streets, grab your phone or camera and get dancing. The most creative entry will win WAB’s Perth escape prize package for two which includes luxury accommodation at the Parmelia Hilton, a double beauty makeover at Head Studio in King Street, plus two Premium tickets to WAB’s next ballet at His Majesty’s Theatre, Onegin September 20 - October 5.
Send your videos to cwilliamson@waballet.com.au before July 14. WAB wants to use your footage, with Prokofiev’s score, to put together a statewide community tango montage, so remember to mention in your email that you agree to your footage being broadcast on WAB’s YouTube page.
