Gabriel Jahnke, a student of Suzanne Way at Professional Coaching, Avalon, NSW, has won the Australian Institute of Classical Dance Houston Ballet Academy (HBA) scholarship.
The competition was held at the Hurstville Entertainment Centre in NSW on April 12 and was adjudicated by the director of the Houston Ballet Academy, Shelly Power.
Lucky Gabriel will receive return airfares to Houston, Texas, to attend the HBA's intensive summer program in June as well as meals and accommodation.
Power also offered the runner up, Madison Cronin from Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy, a short stay at the school at another time as well as her prize of $500.
