Sweet Charity is opening at Arts Centre Melbourne next week, as part of a tour that has taken in Sydney and Canberra, and will head to Wollongong.  This production won three Helpmann Awards for its 2014 season at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre Co, including Best Choreography in a Musical for Andrew Hallsworth, Best Female Actor in a Musical for Verity Hunt-Ballard and Best Direction of a Musical for Dean Bryant.

The original Broadway show, which debuted in 1966, was directed and choreographed by the great Bob Fosse.  The show includes hits such as “Big Spender”, “If My Friends Could See Me Now” and “The Rhythm of Life.”  

Sweet Charity is currently playing in Canberra and will open in Melbourne 25 February.  The production then heads to Wollongong, opening 11 March.
