The nominations for Melbourne’s Green Room Awards were announced today, Tuesday February 21, to coincide with Theatre Day.

Each year Green Room Awards are awarded to a wide variety of professional performing artists from both behind and in front of the curtain. Nominations are made by the Association membership and voted on by secret ballot.

In the Dance category, only two artists have been nominated for the Betty Pounder Award for Choreography: independent dancer Jo Lloyd (for Future Perfect) and Gideon Obarzanek (for Assembly).

Bangarra Dance Theatre’s Albert David, independent Luke George, the Australian Ballet’s Chenwu Guo and Tim Ohl (for his performance in Kage’s Look Right Through Me) make up the eclectic group of nominations for best Male Dancer.

Fiona Cameron, Kristina Chan, Madeleine Eastoe, Kirsty Martin and Lily Paskas will vie for best Female Dancer.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in March (date to be confirmed).

See the complete list of dance and music theatre nominees below. For the complete list of all categories go to www.greenroom.org.au.
