We have so many interesting articles in the June/July issue that it’s hard to know which story to highlight first. There’s a very informative article on auditioning in Europe, written by an Australian dancer based in Germany, Luke Forbes. That is accompanied by ‘My Memorable Audition”: first hand accounts by dancers of auditions that changed their lives for the better (mostly!).
We also have an account of the Youth America Grand Prix, which has become one of the highest-standard competitions for students in the world. This is the event that was featured in the hugely popular First Position documentary in cinemas last year. Just competing is an exhilarating experience in itself.
Regular readers of our e-news will know we have been interviewing contestants of So You Think You Can Dance. In the June/July issue of the magazine, we have an interview with one of the judges, Aaron Cash. This Australian has had a brilliant career, but because he has spent much of his time overseas, not many are aware of his achievements.
