For the first time in its 84 year history, the Genée International Ballet Competition will be live-streamed online, from Sadler’s Wells in London. This is particularly exciting news for Australian audiences because there are 22 Australian residents in the competition, two of which have received the new Darcey Bussell Genée bursaries. The two bursary winners are Jade Charlton (Sydney Ballet School) and Eugénie English (Victorian College of the Arts).

The live stream will be presented by Deborah Bull CBE, former Principal of The Royal Ballet and Creative Director of the Royal Opera House, a writer, TV presenter and currently Director, Cultural Partnerships, at King's College in London. The Genée 2015 judging panel includes Dame Monica Mason DBE, former Director of The Royal Ballet; David Bintley CBE, Artistic Director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet; David Nixon OBE, Artistic Director of Northern Ballet, and Jeanetta Laurence OBE, Associate Director of The Royal Ballet.
