Graduating students from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts will flex their choreographic muscles at the Dolphin Theatre next week when they present “Fresh”.  The program will include ten new works by 10 third year BA Dance students.  The works have been created in collaboration with students from other WAAPA departments, including music, production and design, and performance, and will be performed by WAAPA students from the dance department.

The student choreography season is an annual event, and is the culmination of the students’ study of choreography over the three years of the dance course.   With an average choreographer age of 19, “Fresh” provides an insight into the minds and concerns of young people.   This year’s program includes themes such as technophobia, anxiety and fear, the meaning of happiness, and sustainability and human impact of the natural environment.
