KAGE’s 2014 work Forklift is making a reappearance this March, at Bleach* Festival on the Gold Coast. Featuring a real 2.5 tonne forklift as part of the set, Kate Denborough’s Forklift premiered at the Sydney Festival before heading to Melbourne.

Combining choreography, contortion and aerial acrobatics, Forklift defies easy definition says Bleach* Festival’s artistic director, Lousie Bezzina. “It’s not quite theatre, not quite circus. I describe it as a mix of acrobatics, heavy machinery and dance, with a crazy and dangerous contemporary twist,” she remarks. “These performers have all gone through technical training to operate the equipment and the basic rule of circus arts is definitely first and foremost: trust the people you're working with. Forklift is an opportunity to witness firsthand the strength, agility and daring of the Kage performers.”
