The stage is set for one of Australia’s most anticipated ballet events, as the 2025 Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship Finals return to the Sydney Opera House this Sunday, 20 July.

Eighteen young dancers—ten junior and eight senior—have been selected as finalists after progressing through a rigorous selection process including video heats, live semi-finals and a masterclass. Their performances will culminate in a spectacular public final in the Concert Hall, adjudicated by a panel of leading industry figures including Christian Tatchev, Dr Chiara Ajkun, Jennifer Sommers, Slava Tutukin and Megan Connelly.

Regarded as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most prestigious dance awards, the Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship offers significant prizes: the senior winner will receive $18,000 in scholarship and cash, while the junior winner will take home $7,000. Finalists also gain access to exclusive professional development opportunities, including mentorships and training with The Australian Ballet and Queensland Ballet.
