Tanzolymp 2012, the 9th International Dance Festival for Children and Young People based in Berlin, Germany, is calling for entries.
The Tanzolymp is a major competition where professionals and students from private schools alike meet to compete in various dance categories, including solos and groups, in classical, modern, traditional folk dance and jazz dance.
The competition takes place in the Russian House for Science and Culture from Feb 16 to 20 and culminates in a prize giving ceremony and gala with special guest artists on February 19, 2011.
Prizes include scholarships to an array of the world’s top dance schools:
John Cranko School of Stuttgart Ballet
Ballet School of Hamburg Ballet
State Ballet School Berlin
Munich Ballet Academy, Germany
Princess Grace Academy of Classical
Ballet, Monaco
National Dance Academy, Rome
Peridance Capezio Center, New York
Moscow Dance Academy, Bolshoi Ballet
And contracts to:
Private audition to Staatsballett Berlin
Contract to Ballet Dortmund, Alemania
Contract to Aalto Theatre Ballet
Company, Essen Alemania
Contract to State Opera and Ballet
House, Prague
Contract to Zurich Ballet, Switzerland
The President of the Jury is the former Bolshoi principal Vladimir Vasiliev, while the patron is Vladimir Malakhov, the director of Staatsballett Berlin.
Entries close on December 15, 2010.
The detailed program of the festival will be released in January 2011.
