Irinushka (aka Irina Kuzminsky*) is a Melbourne-based dancer, composer and writer. In her one-woman show, Dancing with Dark Goddesses, she brings together her poetry, dance and music to take the audience into the world of the ‘sacred feminine’. Her songs and choreography illustrate different aspects of women’s spirituality in a new way.
Dancing with Dark Goddesses was inspired by Irinushka’s poetry collection of the same name. She has created three albums of her poetry set to music and is one of only two Australian poets whose work was included in the recently released international anthology of visionary poetry, Diamond Cutters (Tayen Lane).
Irinushka has performed Dancing with Dark Goddesses in New York, England and Germany. The show plays Dancehouse, Melbourne, 29-30 Sept and 1 Oct as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
